FILMATION ART: Fright Zone industrial pipes.

For the last sixteen years I have collected He-Man and She-Ra animation artwork. As a result I have amassed a pretty large collection! Here I present a piece of original background artwork from the She-Ra episode "A Loss for Words". The Fright Zone is overall one of the most detailed locations in the He-Man and She-Ra universe. All of the backgrounds featured random pieces of technology, platforms, and industrial pipes. Even more impressive was the use of colors to create a somewhat hellish environment. The actual source of the red highlights that adorned every background of the Fright Zone was never really shown, but one has to suspect that the spatially vast red area behind Hordak's throne is where it originates from. This background beautifully highlights the detail, the industry, the color scheme, and the height of the Fright Zone as a location. This background is used numerous times towards the end of the episode, most notably when Adora raises the Sword of Protection, as the camera does not pan up to the sword on this occasion.

And here is how the background was used in the episode...

And how it was reused a few minutes later...

That's true about the color of the background ... Is it supposed to be blue or red? It makes for a great color combination though, and I like how there is no symmetry or pattern to the background! It's more like a hodgepodge of eye candy. :)
