"Altered States" #5

Here are pages thirteen to fifteen of "Altered States" from issue six of the Masters of the Universe Adventure magazine. Skeletor's Terror Claws make an appearance, and for once it does not feel like a cheap piece of product placement.

Spirit gallops!

Here is an interesting illustration from the She-Ra Ladybird book "Catra's Ice Palace". Even though his art is questionable at times, Geoff Senior manages to capture a beautiful illustration of Spirit galloping as if his life depended on it!

"Altered States" #4

Here are pages ten to twelve of "Altered States" from issue six of the Masters of the Universe Adventure magazine. Fat He-Man appears! We also get to see a very interesting color scheme on Whiplash!

Rebels at sunset...

This illustration by Robin Davies from the She-Ra Ladybird book "She-Ra and the Dark Pool" should be an example to many other artists of how to end a book with a celebratory cast image. Endings do not come much happier, or brighter, than this!

"Altered States" #3

Here are pages seven to nine of "Altered States" from issue six of the Masters of the Universe Adventure magazine. He-Man's body begins going through some odd transformations, as a uniquely colored Jitsu attacks!

A message from evil.

What I often liked about the Ladybird books was their interesting choices of layout. As featured in the She-Ra book "Spirit is kidnapped", across two pages, we see an evil-looking raven in close-up, with the rebels below looking upward. Robin Davies once again uses bold lines, strong colors, and interesting angles to turn a typical scene into one that grabs the reader's attention.

"Altered States" #2

Here are pages four to six of "Altered States" from issue six of the Masters of the Universe Adventure magazine. Skeletor's thought process on page six is not only great, but also results in one of his best pieces of dialogue...

Orko's comic strip #54

Almost every issue of the UK Masters of the Universe comic featured an Orko comic strip on the inside front cover. As this Blog continues I will try and feature all of them for your amusement. Here I present the "Orko the Magician" comic strip from issue fifty-four. I am not even sure this is supposed to be a gag...

"Altered States" #1

"Altered States" from issue six of the Masters of the Universe Adventure magazine is a memorable and unique story. Actually, it is the story that features the overweight version of He-Man I featured a few days back; so that should give you something to look forward to. Here I present the first three pages of this entertaining story.

Talking is for wimps!

Here is an interesting panel from issue twenty-two of the UK He-Man Adventure magazine, formerly known as Masters of the Universe Adventure. I love this panel because not only does it feature one of the worst martial arts kicks I have ever seen illustrated, but it also has one of the worst pieces of dialogue! Fortunately the animated series treated Hoove with a great deal more respect.
